Pecha Kucha _ quick fun!

The Pecha Kucha lab was a huge success!

I was very impressed with the students' ability to design Powerpoint presentations quickly and work together in groups.

The topics that were covered were:

The Effects of Drinking
Saving the Environment
Depression and University Students
The Health Effects of Drinking

These students are definitley driven to promote health and well-being!

I found this interesting article on Science Daily. Thought some of you might be interested to learn about how we recognize faces - an important aspect of communication.

I think this up coming lab this week will be very helpful for the students. Making good posters is not easy!

  1. Last week's lab introduced a form of presentation I have never employed, Pecha Kucha. Because it is a fast-paced speach, only the most important/relevant information was relayed; therefore, my interest did not decline throughout the lab.

In the future, I hope to have the opportunity to use Pecha Kucha again.

  2. The Pecha Kucha Presentataion--> i can't even pronounce it right, so definitely something new for me. But I gained lots of information during the lab, such as timing your slide and being able to deliver the message effectively to audience as concisely as possible, and still be able to elaborate on your topic. It was really fun working in groups and under time pressure! Thus It was a good activity for us as it allowed us to practice putting powerpoint together in 30 minutes while ensuring accurate and relevant information are put together, and then present it to the rest of class in five minutes! I was motivated, focused and active, during the lab!
