Comment: Fallon made some great points on how the teacher is able to edit and critique online. One thing that a lot of people mentioned that we think everyone can agree on is that Google Docs is great for group projects. It is unanimous with my partner and I, Fallon, and the rest of the paragraphs made by our pupils is that Google Docs is far superior to writing on paper and using Microsoft Word.

I've used Google Docs a lot in the past, but I learnt some things in this lecture that I didn't know! Google Docs is actually more useful than I thought! Google Docs has saved some of my group projects this semester because we've all been able to edit the same document. I love it.
I found this lecture very interesting, I have never used google docs before and I think it's a great way to share documents and allows us to work on one paper at the same time by everybody who is involved. This is awesome.
I have never used google docs before. Although there have been a few hiccups while using them in class, they seem like a great way to have access to important documents or work in progress from anywhere with an internet connection!
I love using google docs. Because I do not often bring my computer to school with me, google docs makes it possible for me to access my documents at school, anytime I need to. I also find google docs incredibly user friendly. I just started using it this fall but have not found any major time-investing problems when working with it. This point is very important to me. As a student having to learn many different computer programs, I find it beyond annoying when I have to spend a lot of time getting to know how to use the programs in order to do what I need to do. Overall, I love google docs, and I appreciate that we have been using it so much in class.
Below is the link to my Google Doc: https://docs.google.com/a/ualberta.ca/document/d/1oVUo-fqVqFmLdALGvG5OTdrsUqOCEhogtoZ0sJHED9c/edit I am waiting for approval for access to comment on another students document but I love being able to have something like Google Docs available. I have used it several times during my time at the university and it allows collaboration between people to be so easy when having to work on assignments and projects and allows this to be done from your own computer.
After working with Lida P., and reading the comments made by my classmates, I come to the conclusion that Google Doc is a great tool to use. It is very convenient for group work as we all can work on the task at our own time, and it shows each partner's contribution to the task. This is important and everyone can see other group members' contribution. As well, Google Doc is important for individual work as well, it is convenient as one can write it without worry of loss of work, as it saves automatically. It is also convenient as you don't have to keep on saving it, and transfer is to a USB or memory stick, therefore, it saves time, space in desktop and convent and accessible anytime. One drawback to the use of Google Doc it is very difficult to format documents.
Before this semester I had never used a google doc. But now I have seen how useful they can be! Especially in a group work! I now use google docs when working in an academic group on a project or to allow the members of my student group to report on their progress in their appointed role. Because everyone has access to edit the doc (if you create the document that way) it creates a really dynamic way to communicate, perfect for student groups.

I commented on Linda's Google Doc: https://docs.google.com/a/ualberta.ca/document/d/1qJhP1eVaZnAjrD9ZKmxqJVqRP1T2adsdw_bBvewBXso/edit
I have never heard of Google doc before this semester and I'm glad I did. I used it in one of my group projects for a class and it worked out perfectly. Everyone contributed easily and it made working together so much easier. Since everyone had access to a computer, we easily opened up the Google doc and worked on it together. The chat option allowed us to keep in touch and help each other since not everyone could meet up at the same time and place. Without the use of Google doc, I'm sure our project would have taken a lot longer to finish.

I've used Google Docs a lot in the past, but I learnt some things in this lecture that I didn't know! Google Docs is actually more useful than I thought! Google Docs has saved some of my group projects this semester because we've all been able to edit the same document. I love it.
ReplyDeleteI found this lecture very interesting, I have never used google docs before and I think it's a great way to share documents and allows us to work on one paper at the same time by everybody who is involved. This is awesome.

I have never used google docs before. Although there have been a few hiccups while using them in class, they seem like a great way to have access to important documents or work in progress from anywhere with an internet connection!
ReplyDeleteI love using google docs.
ReplyDeleteOverall, I love google docs, and I appreciate that we have been using it so much in class.

I am waiting for approval for access to comment on another students document but I love being able to have something like Google Docs available.
ReplyDeleteBefore this semester I had never used a google doc.

I used google docs to real-time edit our project write-ups with my group memebers
