Lecture 24: Online Class

Today is your opportunity to work on your Wikipedia assignment! Take this time to add to your stub. Remember, you need to write 300-600 words AND, since this assignment is also part of your e-portfolio, you need to follow those guidelines.

As a reminder, the Wikipedia assignment is here and the e-portfolio assignment is here and the rubric is here.

  4. Contributing to Wikipedia was an interesting experience, thinking that many people will end up on that article when googling for topics related to my stub is pretty neat!
I had made my account before hearing that we had to use our real name or twitter alias's so I apologize to my TA Obi for Lab D3, but my username for Wikipedia is "Amyoung1" and I updated a stub on the Ejaculatory Ducts of male anatomy, here it is:

and I will post screen shots of it on my blog here:

  6. Hey here is the link to my wiki article. I had a difficult time starting this assignment, but it was quite fun once I got into it. I was also unable to upload images to wikipedia. Did anyone else have a problem?

  7. Hi All! I'm welcoming you to check out my Wikipedia article on Dexatrim weight-loss dietary supplement. Do a Google search for Dexatrim and find my Wikipedia article listed 2nd on the first page. How's that for fantastic exposure! Excellent exercise Jess!

  8. Well, I finished. The mark will be dismal because it is late, but it's out of the way and done for the e-portfolio.

It ended up taking 11 hours to complete, mainly because I experienced a technical glitch that lost everything after I finished it the first time (8 hrs) and the joy of other people editing my work as I was working.

    Here's the link:

In case someone decides to edit the stub that was nearly non-existant before I worked on it (again), I'm going to post the Wikicode (I saved my version into word) on my blog so the TAs can grade my work, and not someone else's.

Before this, I was rather indifferent to using social media intensively. I think by the time this course is done I'll be avoiding it like the plague.
